Florence Ceramics

Florence is a ceramic artist making minimal, functional, ergonomic ceramics to uplift the everyday. Working in two different clay bodies, Florence draws inspiration from Scandinavian and Baltic design traditions after training in Latvia, and now works from her studio in East Bristol. Each item is made intentionally, with tactility and usefulness in mind, before being glazed in a subtle, natural colour palette of oatmeals, taupes and greens. 

Sustainability

Due to the recyclable nature of clay, Florence reclaims and reuses any material that doesn't make the cut during the design process. This means that she can experiment with multiple different shapes and forms before deciding on the final shape. She works on a very small scale, and uses an energy-efficient modern kiln. Vessels are brought to Prior shop on the back of her bike!
